Jack in the Box
It sits at the balance point.
A stonefish biding its time
tethered as clocks tick.
Stalactite secretes mote by mote
thicker year on year.
Blindsided
the tether peg kicked loose.
Slapped in the face by a shark
I spin without brakes.
It smiles and moves.
Eyes wide shut
visions fly
chaos butterflies
party in the belly.
